I went to Brenda’s yard and met a Blue Heron that seems to have claimed it as a favorite spot. The day was cold and windy, adding to the thrill of the experience. I spotted the heron in the distance and silently hoped it would land exactly where I was aiming my camera. It circled the pond, and just before touching down—it let loose the biggest dropping I’ve ever seen!

Meanwhile, a Canada Goose had been lingering in the yard. We had acknowledged each other’s presence, and I had been focused on capturing its stance when the Blue Heron finally arrived. Naturally, I turned my attention to the heron, adjusting my camera for the perfect shot. But the Canada Goose wasn’t having it. As if offended, it loudly gabbled and marched right into my frame, completely disrupting the moment. The Blue Heron, clearly unimpressed, took one look at the commotion and flew away.
